Description: Brooklyn Girl Film Festival’s mission is to showcase the work of women filmmakers from around the world, and bring these artists together for networking in a fun, informative and supportive environment. Films are sought in which a woman plays a key role as a director, writer, producer, cinematographer, or lead animator.

The festival was inspired by Founder April Mosqus’ experience with her film on the festival circuit. “Attending festivals and screenings really opened my eyes to the lack of women who are out there making their own films and being represented by the festivals. New York City surprisingly did not have a festival specifically focused on women filmmakers, so I decided to create one. “
